上帝本性的榮耀在三月十一日的曠野筵席中，說得非常清楚。祂甚至不願與不聖潔的祂的子民融合;   祂寧可讓祂的約柜被擄去。請訪友仔細閱讀下面的晨曦默思。編輯者數十年來研習聖經的領悟，聖潔必須是有基督信仰的人，必須時時謹記在內心的上帝的旨意，因為上帝是聖潔的。

「她又說，榮耀离開以色列，因為神的約柜被擄去了。」（撒上4:22）

約柜被擄去了，但約柜能保護自己，這一點事實，那些擄掠者在付上重大代价之后，就十分明白了。由于約柜基本上是見證神自己的性情。因此，約柜如何對付了非利士人，就絕不是那些不圣洁的以色列民所辦得到的。神為著祂的榮耀而尋找器皿，但當祂得不到合用的器皿時，祂就自己出來做事，祂如此行乃是護衛祂的見證。祂宁愿讓祂的約柜被擄去，好叫全世界的人都看見，當祂的子民中間有不圣洁的時候，祂不愿意与他們聯結為一。神的性情和人的不圣洁是永遠沒有辦法融合的，特別當不圣洁發生在与祂立約的選民中間時，這种大相逕庭的情形是更加昭然若揭。

 "And she said, The glory departs from Israel, because the ark of God has been taken captive." (1 Samuel 4:22)  

The ark was taken captive, but the ark was able to protect itself. After paying a heavy price, the captors understood the fact very well. Because the ark basically testifies to God's own attribute. Therefore, how the Ark of the Covenant dealt with the Philistines was definitely beyond the reach of the unholy Israelites. God looks for a vessel for His glory, but when He can't get a suitable vessel, God comes out to do things by Himself, and what He does is to defend His testimony. He preferred to have the ark of His covenant been taken captive, that all the world might see, He would not be united with His people as there was unholiness among them. God’s attribue and man’s unholiness can never be blended together, especially when unholiness occurs among His covenanted people, this vastly different situation is even more obvious.
