"After David had served his generation according to the will of God, he fell asleep and was returned to his fathers." (Acts 13:36 NIV)

David served his own generation; he could not serve two generations. Today we want to maintain our work for a long time through organizations, systems, institutions, etc., but the saints in the Old Testament only served for their generation and passed away. This is a very important life principle. Wheat goes from sowing, growing, bearing ears to harvesting, and then the entire plant, even the roots, has to be plowed out. Likewise, the spiritual nature of God's work has no earthly roots and no earthly flavor at all. Although people pass from generation to generation, the Lord remains forever. Everything related to the church must be present, lively, and able to meet current needs. Never allow it to become fixed, ground-bound, or static. God takes away His workers, but He gives new ones. Although our work may suffer losses, His work is always perfect. Nothing can shake Him, for He remains God forever.

(427) Lord, I praise You! Serving You is the right path in my life. 12/30/2023

(427)   Lord, I praise You! Serving You is  the right path in my life.

"I am willing to spend money and labor for your souls." (2 Corinthians 12:15 NIV)

In 1929, after a long period of gospel work, I returned to my hometown of Fuzhou exhausted. One day, in a state of extreme weakness and poor health, I was walking with a cane in the street when I met an old professor from my former school, who invited me to talk to him in a tea room. After we sat down, he looked at me again and again, and then said: "Now please listen carefully: when you were in school, we had high expectations for you, and we all thought you would achieve great things. Are you today Tell me, is this the kind of person you are now?" When I first heard this sharp question, I must admit that my initial reaction was almost to burst into tears. My career, my future, everything was over. Now this old professor is still asking me: "Are you still stubborn and still have no achievements, no development, no performance?" But in that moment, I really knew what it meant to have the spirit of glory living in me. . When I think about being able to pour out my life completely for the Lord, my soul is filled with glory. I can raise my eyes to the sky and say to the Lord peacefully: "Lord, I praise You! Serving You is The best. I have chosen the right path in life."

(426) Only as we get close to the Lord , then can we know what to do ministry. 12/29/2023

(426) Only  as we get close to  the Lord ,   then can we know what to  do  ministry.

"My pigeon, you are in the steep secret place in the rock point, please tolerate you to see your appearance, you have to listen to your voice, because your voice is soft, your appearance is beautiful." (Song 2 2 : 14  NIV)

How difficult we often feel! We often avoid the opportunity to meet with the Lord alone, and even when we are isolated from the outside world on the body, but our minds are still wandering. Many of us can work in the crowd happily, but how many people can we be close to the sanctuary? To kneel down in front of His face, it really requires all the strength of us. If we are not asking ourselves, we will not be able to do this. However, everyone who serves the Lord realized how valuables are those intimate time with the Lord. Whether it is the midnight dream return, it interacts with the Lord for an hour or in the early morning. In minutes, the experiences are all sweet and extraordinary. Let me tell you frankly, you can't be able to serve God with a distance from God. Only when you learn to get close to Him can you know what is the real ministry.

(425) Lord save me from the 1931 flood disaster, I have to surrender. 12/28/2023

(425)          Lord save me from the 1931 flood disaster, I have to surrender.

December 28

"For this child I prayed; and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of him: therefore I also have granted him to the LORD." (1 Samuel 1:27-28)

Do you notice the two phrases here? To me, these two sentences are so precious! Now read them together: "The Lord has given me what I asked for, and I also have granted him to the Lord." In her distress, she had besought the Lord for a son, and her request had been granted. What answer to prayer surpasses this one?  All her prayers was for this child.  Yet now, when she had received all she craved, she gave the child all back to the Giver. And as Samuel passed out of her hands, we are told, “they worshiped the Lord there." (1 Samuel 1:28)

When the day comes for me, as it came for Hannah, that my Samuel, in whom all my hopes are centered, pass out my own hands into God’s, then I shall know what it really means to worship Him.  For worship follows in the of the cross, where God is All and in all.  When our hands are emptied of all we hold dear and the focus shifts from ourselves to God. This is true worship.

(324) "A rainbow surrounded the throne."

(324)   "A rainbow surrounded the throne."

"And a rainbow surrounded the throne." (Revelation 4:3)

The visions in Revelation chapters 4 to 11 are all about God's  throne  (Revelation 4:2), but the visions in chapters 11 to 22 are about   God's    temple (Revelation 11:19) . In the former, we see a throne rainbow at the beginning, and in the latter, we see the ark of God appearing in the temple of God at the beginning. The throne of God was established to rule the entire universe. And the entire rainbow that completely surrounds the throne is His testimony to the entire universe, announcing that the one who sits on the throne will eternally and faithfully abide by the covenant He has made with mankind in all His administrative actions. The temple was built to serve as His own dwelling place. The Ark of the Covenant was originally the main core of the life of the nation of Israel. Although the unfaithful Israelites had lost the Ark of the Covenant, the Ark of the Covenant was still  God's    testimony  about Himself. In any case, what the Ark of the Covenant guarantees is that because God's nature is completely true, His promises to His covenant people will be fully fulfilled. "For He cannot deny Himself" (2 Timothy 2:13). His faithfulness is firmly assured in Christ—and we are God's people in Christ.

(323) God's blood bled for us. That is His love. 12/26/2023

(323)  God's blood bled for us.  That is His love.

December 26

"We know and believe that God loves us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him." (1 John 4:16  NIV)

What is love? Love is not words. The deepest love cannot be expressed by words. The prodigal son was ready to say to his father, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. From now on, I am not worthy to be called your son. Treat me like a hired servant." However, he left. While he was still far away from home, his father was moved with compassion, ran to hold him around his neck, and kissed him repeatedly. Run! Oh, a father's heart is to shorten the distance of sin. He knew his father's heart when he kissed him. His father did not say, I love you. The prodigal knew his father's heart as soon as he kissed him. He could no longer say: "Treat me as a hired hand." He could only say in his heart: My father loves me. Please don’t misunderstand God’s heart today. Please come to the foot of the cross. Jesus has died for you, which has revealed God’s heart to you. When you see the blood of the Lord Jesus, you will know how much God loves you.

When the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman.   Galatians  4:4

When Jesus was born, Israel was a subject nation.   The greatness of the kingdom was but memory, and the people of God paid the tribute to Caesar.  These were the days of Augustus, and Rome ruled the world.  Yet I spite of appearances, He was born in the fullness of time. Everything was prepared.  The Gospel of Christ was for all men; it could not be confined to one tiny nation.  So God permitted Rome to absorb the world, and Jesus Christ was crucified in the Roman empire upon a Roman cross.

Rome’s communications were good.  Her roads and her ships went everywhere.  Jews could come to Jerusalem at Pentecost, hear the gospel and carry it back home without crossing hostile national boundaries.  Because Rome ruled, the apostles might travel freely from city to city within the empire, speaking to men of the Savior.  The book of the Acts demonstrates the neutrality and the fairness of  the secular authorities.  Rome is likened in Scripture to a wild beast, but God who shuts lions’mouths had tames her for His instrument.  He shuts and no man opens; He opens, and no man can shut.

622 中翻英 (322) God is love. 12/25/2023

622 中翻英 (322)                God is love.

December 25

“There was a widow in that city who often came to him, saying, I have an enemy, please give me justice.” (Luke 18:3 NIV)

Wherever your beloved is, there becomes loving place. Wherever the one you love is, that is the paradise. He is no longer here, so my  heart is  like a widow's heart, and this world is just like a empty  spot to me.  Therefore,   we are not attracted by the world that is not because the world is unlovable.

I feel alone in the crowd because He is no longer here. When I'm alone with others, my heart burns because I miss Him. When I wander on the beach, watching the waves and listening to the sound of the waves, I am not alone or calm, because He comforts me. Brothers and sisters, in this world, you may be attracted by many things, but if you are filled with the Lord, those things will be nothing.

In this world, He was killed by others, and all He left behind was nothing more than a cross and an empty tomb. My Lord is dead, so I am a widow. This world is not bad or unlovable, but it is because He is no longer here. Brothers and sisters, we are truly in a widow's position in this world. Our Lord is no longer on this earth, so the world has become unlovable to me.

621 中翻英 (321) The Word became Flesh (四).

621 中翻英 (321)                   The Word became Flesh (四).

December 24

“The servant said, ‘Shall this be given to a hundred men to eat?’” (2 Kings 4:43)

Faith is a very important factor in the work of God, because without faith, there is no real spiritual work. But our faith needs to be exercised and strengthened, and God uses material needs as a training method to enable us to achieve that goal. It is not difficult to profess faith in God in many untouchable things. We can even deceive ourselves on this matter because there are no concrete examples of objective evidence of our lack of faith. But if there are financial, food, cash and other needs, these very practical things will immediately test the reality of our faith. If we can’t trust God to provide for our earthly needs at work, what good is it for us to talk about spiritual needs? We declare to others that God is a living God, and let us prove that God is alive within the realm of physical reality. If we first learn to trust God with material needs, then when spiritual needs come, we will know how to trust Him unswervingly.

“ be lazy in diligence, but be fervent in hearts, always serving the Lord.” (Romans 12:11)

The flesh can be stimulated and enthusiastic for a moment, and it can be enthusiastic due to the influence of emotions, but this is only temporary and will never last. The flesh can be the laziest when it is most diligent, because it is only diligent about those things that suit its heart, and it is only emotions that help it do so. When his emotions are cold toward things that displease him, he cannot serve the Lord. No matter whether it is cloudy or sunny, to continue, slowly, step by step, to labor with the Lord is something that the flesh cannot do. "Fire in the spirit" is a long-lasting thing. Only in this way can we "always serve the Lord." We should avoid all carnal zeal and let the Holy Spirit fill our spirit in such a way that He can keep our spirit hot so that when our emotions become cold, our spirit will not become cold with it, causing us to fail in the work of the Lord. It also seems like there is a situation where "it can't be pulled".

(319)     Until we all  reach   unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God

"Until we all  reach  unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God ....."                                    (Ephesians 4:13 NIV)

Being in constant contact with those whose interpretations of the Bible differ from our own is always wrong for us "in the flesh," but it is helpful for us spiritually. We may have a correct view of the Bible, but God takes this opportunity to give us the opportunity to reveal the correct attitude in our hearts. We may believe rightly, but God is testing us to see if we love rightly. How easy it is for us to have a mind equipped with the sound teachings of the Bible, but lack a heart filled with true love. Oh! How we need Christian tolerance! Oh, how we need a generous heart! Sadly, many of God's children are so zealous for the light they have that they  immediately label  as "outsiders" and treat    whose interpretation of the Bible differs from their.    God would have us  toward  all who hold views contrary to those so dear to us.   Nothing  spirituality    of a teacher as opposition to his teaching.

(318)        Know the Lord,   to listen to His own voice and follow Him closely.

December 21

" No longer will a man teach his neighbor or  a  man his brother, saying,  "Know the Lord,"   because  they will  all know me, from the least of them to the greatest." (Hebrews 8:11 NIV)

In the Old Testament era, when people sought to understand God's will, they were usually limited to the following two ways: (1) the law, and (2) the prophets. But Christianity is not based on notices but on revelation. Do you only have a bookish knowledge of Christ? Is your knowledge of Christ based solely on the words preached by some of God's true servants, or do you have direct contact with the Lord? If we have some close friends with God, and they can often communicate God's revelations to us and let us share them together, this is a very precious thing in our Christian life. Time and time again, we need thought --- provoking encouragement and anointing words from them. However, the New Testament definitely tells us,    "They will all know me." And the original meaning of the word "know" is "know me in them." No matter how much correct light comes from God for those whom God uses greatly, we should not rely solely on their fellowship and support to live and act. Our responsibility is to listen to the Lord's own voice and follow Him closely.

(317) “Gird your loins and serve me.”

(317)  “Gird your loins and serve me.”

February 20

"So when you have done everything you were commanded, you should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we did what was our duty.' " (Luke 17:10  NIV)

In this passage, the servant may be responsible for two important tasks: "ploughing the fields" and "shepherding the sheep." However, after he has done everything, the Lord Jesus reminds us that the servant must first serve his master and let his master eat and drink and be satisfied, and then he can eat and drink himself. How often, when we come back from working in the field (whether evangelizing unbelievers or tending to the needs of the church), it is easy to come back satisfied or appreciative of the many ministries we have accomplished. But the Lord answered us: “Gird your loins and serve me.” (Luke 17:8)      Of course, we ourselves must eat and drink, but we must satisfy the Lord first, and then it is our turn. We should also enjoy it, but we must first let the Lord's joy be satisfied before we can have our share. Let us always ask ourselves: In the work we do for the Lord, do we first satisfy ourselves or the Lord?

(316) The divine favor is to be found where brothers are living in harmony. 12/19/2023

(316)         The divine favor is to be found where brothers are living in harmony.

   Dec. 19

"Lest any root of bitterness spring up trouble you, and thereby the many be defiled. "          (Hebrews 12:15  NIV)

The favor of the Lord may be likened to a wild bird that you are seeking to lure into a room.  Try as you may, you cannot induce it to fly in.  It must do so of its own accord; and then, if it does, you will have to be on the alert lest it fly out again. You could not persuade it to enter, but you can easily cause it to depart. Just a little carelessness on you part and it is gone!

In bless us, it is God who takes the initiative; no effort is called for on our side.  But when His blessing has been fully bestowed, it takes but a little heedlessness on our part to loss it.  The divine favor is to be found where brothers are living in harmony --- never, as well as know, where there is discord among them.  Do you realize how serious a thing it is to be at variance with any brother, even if a consideration of every aspect of the case proves you to be right?  At all costs give heed to our words lest you forfeit the Lord's favor and awake to find the bird flown!

(315) God's name should be honored. 12/18/2023

(315)       God's name should be honored.

“In the name of Jesus of Christ of Nazareth,  walk.” (Acts 3:6 NIV)

Consider what Peter said to the lame man sitting at the Beautiful Gate,    "In the name of Jesus Christ." Clearly, there is no other name (of course Peter's own name was useless) can bring about the same dramatic effect. Let me give you a simple illustration: Not long ago, one of my co-workers wrote to me and asked me to send him some money. I read his letter, prepared it as he requested, and handed the money to the messenger. Am I doing it correctly?    Right, it must be right. Since the letter was signed by my friend, this signature was enough for me. Should I also inquire about the messenger's name, age, occupation, place of origin, etc., perhaps sending him back empty-handed because I am dissatisfied with his identity? No, absolutely not, because he came in the name of my friend, and I respect my friend's name.

God is looking at His Son in glory, not at us here on earth. He honors the name of His Son. What happened at the Beautiful Gate that day was entirely caused by the efficacy of the name Jesus. What makes His servants special is their authority to use the almighty name.

614 中翻英 (314) The Word became flesh (三).

614  中翻英 (314)            The Word became Flesh (三).

December 17

“O you who are wretched and driven by the wind without comfort, I will set your stones with colored stones and lay your foundations with sapphires.” (Isaiah 54:11)

In the Garden of Eden and the holy city New Jerusalem, we find that in addition to gold, there is also precious stones as a major factor. Gemstones are burned by fire in the ground over a long period of time, and their beauty is revealed through ingenious carving and polishing. In spiritual terms, this is God’s patient work in you and me, organizing things of heavenly value into our lives, and these values are extremely precious. Anyone who is unwilling to pay the price will never reach this point! God's grace is free, but only those who pay a high price can purchase precious gems. How often do we have to cry out, “The price is too high!” However, the lessons we learn “through fire and water” with the Lord are of real value. Some things will naturally perish as soon as they encounter God's light; they do not have to wait for the test of fire. But those things that survive God’s testing are truly valuable.

(313) Lord came to the world for bearing the sins of the world. 12/16/2023

(313)            Lord came to the world for bearing the sins of the world.

December 16

“He will not lose heart, nor will he be discouraged, until he establishes justice in the earth, and the islands wait for his instruction.” (Isaiah 42:4 NIV)

The first chapter of the Gospel of John records that the Lord came to his own place, but his own people did not receive him. He came to bear the sins of Israel and the sins of the Gentiles, but people did not want Him, rejected Him, and did not accept Him. When He was on the cross, people did not want Him, and God did not want Him. If it were us, we would definitely be disappointed, discouraged, and sad. But John Chapter 19 records that the Lord shouted on the cross, “It is finished.” If you and I were to shout "that's it". But He cried out like a victorious soldier shouting, "It is finished." He regarded God as His satisfaction all his life. He has no hope for the world and does not expect to receive anything from them. He receives no glory from men. He did not seek to do His own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Him. Behold! I always do the will of him who sent me. Our Lord only regarded God’s will as His satisfaction all his life, so people, things, and things in the world, no matter how they changed, would never disappoint Him. Anyone who is satisfied with God will not be disappointed.

(312) Salvation is the shining of God's light. 12/15/2023

(312)   Salvation is the shining of God's light.

December 15th

"For God, who said, "Let  light shine out of darkness, " made His light shine in our hearts,  to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."   (2 Corinthians 4:6  NIV)

What is salvation? Salvation is the shining of God's light. If that light is obscured, it is veiled to those who perish. But God’s light has shined into the hearts of us sinners.  As long as we see this light, this is salvation! When we see the glory of the Savior’s face, we are saved in that moment. If we only understand and agree with some doctrines, it will be ineffective because we have not yet seen the Lord of truth. But we must be like a camera that captures an image as soon as the shutter is opened. The moment we see the Lord as our Savior, we will immediately begin to change within. And what is to us a "vision in heaven" becomes "the revelation of his Son in me" (Acts 26:19, Gal. 1:16). We don’t need to make any effort to remind ourselves of this living experience, because we will never forget it.
