292 Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 2/9/2023

292  Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

“I fell over the bridge yesterday.”(fell

“I had fallen over the bridge.”

“I was falling over the bridge.”

這是使用(完成時制the perfect version of a tense)的真意.

"Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." (John 1:17)

This word is the key verse of the Gospel of John. Throughout the Gospel of John you see this double emphasis all the time: truth on the one hand and grace on the other. Truth always demands something, and grace meets the demands of truth.  The Chapter 8 of the Gospel of John where has recorded the woman who was caught in adultery, where the fact met truth which was shew out!  The Lord did not say to the woman, "You did not have sin, and you were right." He did not insinuate to the self-righteous Jews that the woman had committed no serious sin, nor did He show His indifference to the matter. But, He said to all of them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her" (John 8:7).  According to the truthshe must be stoned to death. But grace was also here at the same time. When everyone left one by one from the oldest to the youngest, He turned around and said to her, "Then neither  do I condemn you." (John 8 : 11 NIV)  Therefore, from the entire Gospel of John, you can find that truth is always blended with grace to complement each other.

Grace, on the other hand, meets the demands of truth. Chapter 8 records the woman who was caught in adultery, where the truth shines out! The Lord did not say to the woman, "You did not sin, and you were right." He did not insinuate to the self-righteous Jews that the woman had committed no serious sin, nor did He show His indifference to the matter. No, His word said, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her" (John 8:7). Fa, she must be stoned to death. But grace was also here at the same time. When everyone left one by one from the oldest to the youngest, He turned around and said to the woman, "I don't condemn you either." Therefore, from the entire Gospel of John, you can find that truth is always blended with grace to complement each other.
