「要常常喜樂，不住的禱告，凡事謝恩。」（帖前5:16-18）

要常常喜樂！這怎么可能呢？我們怎能在困苦中喜樂？喜樂從何而來？我們無法制作一些喜樂。如果我們沒有得著喜樂，就委實是的的确确沒有喜樂。但保羅卻在此處傳授給我們一個秘訣：這秘訣就是「在主里面喜樂」，我們要活在祂的喜樂里。在某些環境中，我和你會灰心、失望，而祂在同樣的環境中，卻仍然「靈里喜樂」，并且夸胜的說：「父阿，你的美意本是如此。」（路10:21）祂是在我們里面，祂的喜樂也在我們里面，我們應學習活在這一個喜樂里而超越任何的難處。當你受試探要被壓倒的時候，抬起頭來，并問你自己：「主是否在今天失掉了祂的喜樂？」只有當主失去了喜樂，你才會沒有喜樂！因為這不是你喜樂的問題，乃是祂的喜樂。主的喜樂是你的力量（參看尼8:10）。

"Be joyful always; pray continually;  give thanks in all circumstances, … " (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18  NIV)

Rejoice always! How is this possible? How can we be joyful always in adversity? Where does joy come from? We cannot make some joy. If we do not obtain joy, we really do not have joy. But as a secret, Paul taught us here: the secret is  "To rejoice in the Lord", and we must live in His joy. Under certain circumstances, you and I would be discouraged and disappointed, but for Him in the same circumstances, He was still : "fully rejoicing in spirit" , and He said triumphantly, "Father, for this was your good pleasure." (Luke 10:21).  He is in us, His joy is also within us, we should learn to live in this joy and overcome any difficulties. When you are tempted to be overwhelmed, look up and ask yourself, "Has the Lord lost His joy today?" Only when the Lord has lost His joy, then you can be joyless! For it is not a matter of your joy, but of His joy.  “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength (see Nehemiah 8:10).
