親愛的訪友們，假若不是聖靈的恩賜，編輯者恐已不在世上，也無法與您們分享在曠野的筵席。您們知道在曠野無法擺設筵席。詩篇23篇說到牧羊人在曠野遇到危險，我們的主為我們在敵人面前擺設筵席，使我們能安然度過。
朋友們，學習英文對我們初三的學生實在是艱難的功課，但靠聖靈的恩賜，您肯定可以度過。記得我的恩師鄧岳宗先生告訴我的方法，仍不時響在耳際。大聲朗讀。不但耳到，口到，眼到，並且心也到了。因此，英文拼音，英語語法也因背誦，可以寫短句。英文單字也記住，真是一舉四得。
送上今日的曠野筵席，懇請仔細品嚐。

「你們各人要悔改，奉耶穌基督的名受浸，叫你們的罪得赦，就必領受所賜的圣靈。」（使徒行傳 2:38）
假如我進入一間書店，選購了一部上下兩冊的書，付清書款以后，我就走出書店，在匆忙中不小心，把其中的一冊書留在柜台上。當我發覺我的粗心大意時，我該怎么辦呢？我必須立即回到書店去，把那本遺忘的書取回來，卻絕不需要再付任何代价。我只要提醒店員，告訴他這兩本的書款都已經付清了，并且為著第二本書再謝謝他。現今我可以毫無難處的，將那兩本書挾在手臂里，昂然自得的步出書店。如果你遇到這樣的情形，你豈不也是和我同樣的做法么？
但你實實在在是處于同樣的情況，你既然悔改，信主，并奉主耶穌基督的名受浸，這樣你便被授權去領受兩項恩賜，不是只有一面。你既獲得赦罪的恩賜，為何現在不來（如果你從未曾領受過）向主感謝并領受圣靈的恩賜呢？
January 17 The gift of the Holy Spirit
"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38)
Suppose I went into a bookstore, selected a two-volume book and, having put down the price, walked out of the shop, carelessly leaving one volume on the counter. When I discovered the oversight, what should I do? I should go straight back to the recover the forgotten volume, but I ought not dream of paying anything for it. I should simply remind the shopkeeper that both volumes were duly paid for, thank him again for the second one. Now I can walk out of the bookstore without any problems with my possession under my arm. Would you not do the same under the same circumstances?
But you are truly under
the same circumstances. If you have fulfilled the conditions, you are entitled
to two gifts, not just one. You have already
taken the remission of sins. Why not just
come and (if you have never received it) thank the Lord for the gift of the
Holy Spirit now?
