(426)            Have a mercy on me, Oh, Lord.

Morning by Morning

April 7.    Scripture: "How long will you turn my honor into shame?" (Psalm 4:2)                                    4

How did the blind and blind Israelites treat their long-awaited Messiah and savior?

         (1) Roman governors, Jewish priests, and Israeli men, women, and children lined up along the way to join in the fun, gloating as they watched Jesus carrying the cross step by step with blood and tears. Jesus came to the world to destroy the enemy of mankind—Satan, who has the power of death. But what was the reward He received? It is people's ridicule and ridicule, and it is cruel torture.

         (2) What did He drink? It's not nectar, but a cup full of bitter wine. Finally, He said on the cross, "I am thirsty." (John 19:28). The Roman soldiers moistened a sponge with vinegar mixed with bile, and handed it to His lips casually, without any sign of respect. Jesus, the Son of God, also refused.

         (3) There were soldiers accompanying Him, but these people took off His coat and cast lots to see who could get His relics.

         (4) Where is His throne? It's the wooden cross that represents shame, and that's how the world feels about Him.

         (5) The title on His back when he was executed was "King of the Jews", but the blind and blind Israelites jokingly called Him "King of thieves" and placed Him among the two unsparing robbers. between. People go to great lengths to turn His honor into humiliation. In the eyes of angels and saints who are believers, although they are heartbroken, they are also full of gratitude and comfort, because all of this is to fulfill the prophet's prophecies.
