 在中文句子裡要表示虚拟语气, 比較困難, 也不容易.  但在英文中却有現存的形式可以照抄. 如,  “would like” 是造成虚拟语气有用的短语; 也是非常道地的英语口语中表示有礼貌的話语. 

例如:       愿意与我一起去学校吗?        Would you like to go with me to school? 

              请教我说英语, 好吗?              Would you like to teach me speaking English?

「雅各因著信.......扶著杖頭敬拜神。」（來 11:21）

新約的作者選中了雅各這個似乎是軟弱的記號來描寫他的信心，這是十分卓越動人的！其中的原委乃是：神在毗努伊勒所做的神圣一摸，把那個搶奪者所有超然丰富的天然能力，都實實在在的帶到了盡頭。如今在他身上所表現的，乃是一位滿有恩惠之神的王子，与神一同站在君尊的地位上，并且扶著杖頭敬拜神。

有一天，我和一位年青弟兄共進晚餐，主正在向他說到這關乎我們天然能力的問題。他對我說：「當你知道神已遇見你，并給你一次根本的對付，同時你也接受了那使你「無能」的一摸。」這是多么有福的事！在我們中間的桌子上有一碟餅干，我拿起一塊把它擘為兩半好像要吃的樣子，然后，我很小心地再將那兩半合并一起，我對他說：「這塊餅干好像是完整的，但它再不是和從前一樣的了！是嗎？什么時候你的背脊骨斷了，你就會順從神那最輕微的感動了。」

"By faith Jacob worshiped God leaning on the top of his staff" (Hebrews 11:21 NIV)

It is remarkable that the New Testament writer chose this seemingly weak sign of Jacob to describe his faith! The reason for this is this: the divine touch of God at Peniel brought literally to an end all the supernaturally rich natural powers of the snatcher. What is manifested in him now is a prince of God full of grace, standing with God in the royal position, and worshiping God while leaning on the top of his staff.

One day I was having dinner with a young brother, and the Lord was speaking to him about this matter of our natural abilities. He said to me: "When you know that God has met you and dealt with you fundamentally, you have also accepted the touch that made you "incompetent". ’ What a blessed thing this is! There was a plate of biscuits on the table between us, and I took one and broke it in half as if to eat, then, carefully putting the two halves together again, I said to him, "This biscuit is like It's whole, but it's not the same anymore! Is it? When your spine breaks, you're resigned to the slightest touch of God."
