               The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your                     body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good.  For the                         Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers.                                               上帝你的上帝必使你手所做的一切, 你的身體所結的果子, 牲畜的繁盛, 及地的出產都豐                 豐富富.  因為主必再次因你們的福祉而喜樂, 正如祂因你們的列祖興盛喜樂一樣

 

The Shorter Catechism encapsulates the Christian's purpose in this terse statment : "The chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever."  Most committed followers of Christ passionately seek to honor Him.  Fewer, however, really know how to enjoy God.  Perhaps this is due in part to the misunderstanding of how God feels about you.  He takes great plesure in you.

《小教理》用這句簡潔的話概括了信基督者的目的,  “人的主要目的是榮耀上帝, 並永遠以祂為樂. ”  大多數忠實的基督跟隨者都熱情地尋求榮耀祂.  然而, 真正懂得如何享受上帝的人卻少之又少.  也許部分是因為上帝對你感覺的誤解. 祂對你感到非常喜樂.

             John Piper writes in The Pleasure of God: "God is rejoicing over my good with all His heart and with all His soul.  He virtually breaks forth into song when He hits upon a new way to do me good."

             約翰派博在《上帝的喜悅》一書中寫道：「上帝全心全意地為我的善而喜樂. 當祂想到有新的方法來為我祝福時, 祂幾乎會不覺唱起歌來.”

            

                Piper continues:

              But the promise is greater yet.  Not only does God promise not to run away from doing good to us, He says, "I will rejoice in doing them good" (Jeremiah 32:41).  "The Lord will again take delight in prospering you" (Deuteronomy 30:9).  There is a kind of eagerness about the beneficence of God.  He does not wait for us to come to Him.  He seeks us out, because it is His pleasure to do us good.                              但更大的應許還沒有臨到,   上帝不只應許, 祂不會離棄對我們行善, 祂還說,  "我要喜樂地為他們行善"（耶利米書  32:41）. 「上帝必再度喜樂, 祂能使你亨通」（申  30:9）.  有一種對上帝的仁慈的渴望.  祂不會等待我們來到祂面前.  上帝尋找我們, 因為祂為我們行善的作為而喜樂.

              God is not waiting for us, He is pursuing us ... I have never forgotten how a great teacher once explained it to me.  He said God is like a highway patrolman pursing you down the interstate with lights flashing and siren blaring to get you to stop --- not to give you a ticket, but to give you a message so good it couldn't wait till you get home.                                                                                                                     上帝不是在等待我們, 祂是在追趕我們…… 永遠忘記不了我的偉大的老師曾經向我解釋過有關這一點. 他說上帝就像高速公路上的巡警, 在州際公路上追趕你, 旋轉燈光閃爍, 警笛大鳴,想要讓你立刻停下來  —— 不是給你罰單, 而是給你這樣的好消息, 上帝迫不及待地想要你在沒到家以前就知道.

                Set me free to enjoy You, dear Lord.  Thank You for Your goodness and the blessings You                         bestow upon me each day.
