四月九日主復日的曠野筵席極為豐盛。信徒必須預備他們的心來享用主的謙卑的復活節。

「亞伯拉罕因著信被試驗的時候，就把以撒獻上，這便是那歡喜領受應許的，將自己獨生的儿子獻上。論到這儿子曾有話說，從以撒生的，才要稱為你的后裔。」（來   11:17-18）

當神要求亞伯拉罕獻上以撒時，我們可以估量到亞伯拉罕會說的話。他可能爭辯說，驅逐以實馬利那個命令，雖然明了，但這項新的吩咐，不只要求逐出以撒，更要將他殺死，那就确實難以理解了。因為以實馬利是亞伯拉罕自己錯誤努力的結果，所以能夠尊重神的決定，將他赶出家門。但是以撒，那就迥然不同了，以撒是完全從神而來的。神將以撒賜給亞伯拉罕不單是滿足他那渴慕子嗣的心，更是為成全神向亞伯拉罕所應許的心意。如果以撒也要放棄，神又怎樣做事呢？

但亞伯拉罕已經學會了不跟神講理由，他完全沒有絲毫的抗議。他甚至連獻祭也不提，他只是說要往摩利亞山上敬拜，而真實的敬拜也就是這樣——將神賜給我們的所有恩賜，并我們一切丰富的經歷，以及我們在祂里面的全部盼望，都奉還給祂，結果是從神自己，獲得至大無盡的喜樂。

"When Abraham was tested by faith, he offered up Isaac. This is the one who received the promise with joy, offering up his only begotten son. It was said about this son, that whoever is born of Isaac shall be called your offspring." (Hebrews 11:17-18)

We can gauge what Abraham would say when God asked him to sacrifice Isaac. He might have argued that while the command to expel Ishmael was clear, this new command, not only to expel Isaac, but to kill him, was indeed incomprehensible. Because Ishmael was the result of Abraham's own erroneous efforts, it was able to respect God's decision to cast him out of his house. But Isaac, that's very different, Isaac is totally from God. God gave Isaac to Abraham not only to satisfy his desire for offspring, but also to fulfill God’s promise to Abraham. If Isaac also gave up, how would God do things?

But Abraham had learned not to reason with God, and he did not protest at all. He didn't even mention a sacrifice, he just said he was going to worship on Mount Moriah, and that's what true worship is--all the gifts God has given us, all the richness of our experience, and all the things we have done in His life. All hope within is given back to Him, and the result is a great and unfathomable joy in God Himself.
