在今日的曠野筵席中，我們必須仔細測試筵席的各樣菜餚，什麼是我們屬靈生命最需要的。不是樣樣食物都有助我們靈性的成長。訪友，請您仔細衡量後，才享用它。

「在大戶人家，不但有金器，銀器，也有木器，瓦器，有作為貴重的，有作為卑謙賤。」（提後    2:20 新國際版）

上述那些器皿的分別在何處？我們讀經立即可以發現，這里只標出器皿的材料而沒有題明它們的用處。明顯的，為要与這大戶人家相稱，器皿的重要性不在于它們有關的用處，乃在于它們材料的性質，金器和銀器實際上的用處比不上木器和瓦器。但神在此不是跟我們討論器皿的用處，而是評定器皿在對祂關系上的价值。在屬靈荒涼墜落的日子，神注意器皿內在的价值遠超過它外面的用處。几兩金子的价值可能抵得上滿屋的木椅子！用屬靈的話申述：兩個不同的人，可能說出几乎完全相同的話語，但能力不在乎他們所說的，乃在乎他們所是的。巴蘭和以賽亞都說到基督的國度，但我們很知道，當個人有需要的時候，我們應該向哪一位尋求幫助。

"In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for honor purposes and some for ignoble. "  (2 Timothy 2. :20  NIV)

What is the difference between the above articles?  As we read the scriptures, we can find  immediately that it mentioned here only with the materials of the articles, not their usefulness.  It is evident being compared the worthy articles of this large house, the importance of the material of the articles, not their relative usefulness, but actually the nature of the gold and silver articles were of less practical using than the wood and clay articles. But God is not discussing the usefulness of the articles here, He is evaluating the articles' value relating to Him. In the days of spiritual desolation, God pays attention to the inner value of the articles far more than its outer usefulness.  By the way, a few taels of gold may be worth as much as a full house of wooden chairs!  In spiritual saying, two kinds people may speak almost the same saying, but the power of its saying is quite different, not for what they say, but for person who speaks. Both Balaam and prophet Isaiah speak of the kingdom of Christ, its clear for us to know whom we should ask for when we need personal help.
