四月二日的曠野筵席上，只有一盤苦菜 --- "在你們中間不知道別的，只知道耶穌基督並祂釘十字架.(林前 2:2)"  編輯者過去都只在復活節講主耶穌基督復活的真理，而忽略了告訴訪友主耶穌釘十字架的受苦。在將來到的一週是我們有基督信仰者，要默思我們主的受苦。編輯者要仔細告訴訪友我的感受及領悟。   

「因為真受割禮的，乃是我們這以上帝的靈敬拜，在基督耶穌里夸口，不信靠肉體的。」（腓3:3 新國際版）

割禮是一种記號，將猶太人從其他人中分別出來。按此比對，在世人面前，我們基督徒生活的記號是什么呢？是仁愛嗎？是智慧嗎？是誠實嗎？是熱心嗎？這些美德其他世人也有，其中沒有一樣是神的子民所特備的。然而他們有一項与眾不同的東西，那就是：他們沒有自信！屬神的人對肉體的信賴已經破坏，他們只有全心全意的投靠祂，這一點使他們与其他人迥然不同。我曾見過一些基督徒，他們自以為絕對認識神旨意，甚至一刻也不承認他們可能犯了錯誤。我告訴你們，這等人仍舊缺少那屬靈「割禮」的最高記號—不信靠肉體。屬靈的人行事為人是謙卑的，并且無時不知自己常有錯失的可能。他會欣然贊同下面這一句套用圣經語气而令人得益的話：凡認識自己會錯的人有福了！

"For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God , who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh.  ...." ( Philippians 3:3 NIV)

Circumcision was a sign that separated the Jews from the others.  What is the mark of our Christian life before the world, according to this comparison ? Is it benevolence? Is it wisdom? Is it honest? Are you enthusiastic? These virtues are shared by the others in the world, and none of them are peculiar to the people of God. However, there is one thing different, which is—they have no self-confidence.  God's people have broken the trust of their flesh.  They trust Him only with whole heart.  It separates them from others. I have seen some Christians who thought they knew God's will very well, even boasting themselves that they didn't make any mistake. I tell you that they lack "the highest sign of spiritual circumcision"—trust not the sinful flesh.  A spiritual person walks in humility and is always aware of the possibility of making any mistake. He will approve readily the following helpful biblical paraphrase: Blessed is the man who admits that he can not get rid of making mistake!
