Now unto You, O heavenly Father, be all praise and glory that day by day You do                         天父啊, 願一切的讚美與榮耀歸於你, 因為你每日丰丰富富地給我生活上

richly fill my life with various blessing:                                                                                                的各种恩賜:

       A home to share, kindred to love, and friends to cherish:                                                                       有家庭可以分享生活, 有骨肉可以叙天倫之樂, 有朋友可以懷思;

       A place to fill and a work to do:                                                                                                                有地方可玩和工作可做;

      A green world to live in, blue skies above me, and pure air to breathe:                                               有青綠世界可以居住, 有新鮮的空氣可以呼吸,頭上更有  的天空;

      Healthy exercise and simple pleasures:                                                                                                    有健康的運動與樸實的娛樂;

      My race’s long history to remember and its great men to follow:                                                          有悠久的历史足供懷想, 有偉大的人物可  模範;

      Good books to read and many arts and crafts to delight in:                                                                  有好書可讀,有諸般藝術可以欣賞;

      So much that is worth knowing and the skill and science to know it:                                                    有諸般值得知道的事物, 並有科學與技術知識去了解它;

      Those high thoughts that sometimes fill my mind and come I know not whence:                                有時有高尚的思想充滿我心,不知從何而來;

      Many happy days, and that inward calm that You give me in days of gloom:                                      有許多快樂的日子, 即使在憂鬱的時候, 你仍然賜予我內心的 寧靜;

      The peace, passing understanding, that comes from Your indwelling in my soul:                              我心裡有從你那裡而來出乎意外的平安;

       The faith that looks through death and the hope of a larger life beyond the grave.                             那透過死亡的信仰, 與那死後更大生命的盼望.

       

             I thank You, O Lord God, that though with liberal hand You have at all times showered                 主啊, 我感謝你, 因為你的寬厚仁慈, 你以往的恩澤, 如甘霖 沛 降於人類,

   Your blessings upon our human kind, yet in Jesus Christ You have done greater things             而在耶穌基督身上, 你更為我們作成 

   for us than You ever did before:    Making home sweeter and friends dearer:                                     亙古以來所未有的大事;使家庭更相愛, 朋友更相親;

   Turning sorrow into gladness and pain into the soul’s victory:                                                             使憂傷為喜樂, 使痛苦在人心灵裡轉為勝利.;

   Robbing death of its sting:除掉死亡的 毒 鈎;

   Robbing sin of its power:消滅罪 的权勢;

   Making peace more peaceful and joy more joyful and faith and hope more secure.                           重新創造历史;  使平安快樂越加多, 並叫信心與指 望更加 堅 固.

我們親愛的主耶穌基督, 謝謝祢賜孩子機會, 一到美國就看到他們建造的胡佛大埧( Hoover Dam), 這是孩子教授水利工程, 在談到大埧工程的多目標的構想的偉大, 以及那麼早就看到多目標開發水資源的遠大眼光, 就想望見到的它待容貌. 更謝謝祢讓孩子了解遵守祢的旨意真是有福. 奉主耶穌的聖名禱告.    阿們. 

下面是兩張胡佛大埧的珍照.  是1936年的建造完工的偉大水利工程.  幾乎使用近百年, 看似運作猶新, 毫無毛病, 只是有時怕會遇到旱季, 不夠發電的設計水頭(Water Level).   水源來自歌羅拉多河(Colorado river). 因為埧址適合, 兩旁是堅固的岩石, 就像我國的三峽, 但美國兵工程師團著名大埧工程師薩凡奇(John Lucian Savage) 曾來我國三峽恊助尋找埧址時, 在重力埧與拱埧之間猶豫不決. 因為在三峽的狹窄的山谷內, 沒有適合的施工處所.  而胡佛大埧的山頂不是聳立的, 適合施工.  拱埧與重力埧在施工過程中迥然不同.  尤其在工程經濟衡量上差異很大.  難易的程度也不一樣.

 胡佛大埧是拱埧.

胡佛大埧的溢洪道在埧旁, 佔地不大易於施工. 它的發電厰房設計在埧體下,得天獨厚, 施工容易, 又增加水頭, 實是值得仿傚(註: 這只是編輯者的看法).
