O God of the ages, grant that I, who am the heir of all the ages, may not fail                                   萬世的主,  我是承継時代的後嗣, 求你叫我不要  失你以往所賜

to profit by the heavenly wisdom which in time past Thou did grant to Thy servants.                     予众 人的屬天智慧.

A wise man wrote,  古代有位哲人曾这样說:                                                                                                The World is too much with us; late  and soon,这世界使我們不勝煩擾; 不論早晚,                            Getting and spending, we lay waste out powers.我們都在耗 自己的氣力.

A wise man wrote, 哲人說:                                                                                                                           Our wills are ours to make them Thine.我們的意志是我們的, 但必須把它作成你的.                         O God, give me grace to profit by this word.主啊, 求你賜我恩典, 使我得着这話的益處.

A wise king said,  聰明的王說:                                                                                                                     Nothing for me is too early or too late which is in due time for Thee.                                                   凡是按着所規定的時間成就的,在我就沒有什麼过早或过遲的話了.                                                    O God, give me grace to profit by this word. 主啊, 求你賜我恩典, 使我得着这話的益處.

A wise woman said,    聰明的婦人說:                                                                                                            The divine moment is the present moment.  此一片刻, 就是屬於神的片刻.                                        O God, give me grace to profit by this word.主啊, 求你賜我恩典, 使我得着这話的益處.

A wise woman said,  聰明婦人說:                                                                                                           He asks too much to whom God is not sufficient. 他祈求这祈求那, 最要緊的是祈求神的同在.         O God, give me grace to profit by this word. 主啊, 求你賜我恩典, 使我得着这話的益處.

A wise man prayed, 聰明人祈禱說:                                                                                                                  Give what Thou command, and command what Thou wilt.                                                                    主, 依自己的命令賞賜, 照着祢自己的旨意命令.                                                                                    O God, give me grace to profit by this word.                                                                                            主啊, 求你賜我恩典, 使我得着这話的益處.

            Grand, O Father, that I may go about this day’s business with an ever- present 

天父, 求主使我今天去担当一天的事務, 能够常常記念那繞著我如雲彩

remembrance of the great tradition wherein I stand and the great cloud of witness                        一般的見證人.  因此, 我就可以脫離兇惡

which at all times surround me, that thereby I may be kept from evil ways                                         而步武前賢. 求主在基督的能力裡保守我,
