666 英翻中 (366) Faithful to the Word. 2/7/2024

666 英翻中 (366)                    Faithful to the Word. 2/7/2024

  Feb.  7.      Faithful to the Word.  Bible reading:  1 Peter : 1:22-25     Key verse : 2 Cor.  11: 13-15        2

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of                            Christ.  And no wonder!  For Satan himself  transforms himself into an anglel of light.                            Therefore it is no great thing if  his ministers into transform themselves into miniters of                          righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

One of the major concerns of the New Testament was false teachings that contracted the message of the gorspel.  Early church leaders such as Peter, James, and John wrote strong appeals to young believers to remain true to the way of Christ and not to compromise their faith by being drawn away in errr.

Satan is the master of deception.  He mixes just enough truth within his lies to catch the attetion of weak and undiscerning people.  Complacency and a heart divided by sin are breeding grounds for apostasy.

You may think this was a problem faced only by the early church, and surely, it is not our problem today.  Nothing could be farther from the truth.  Today Islam makes up nearly 20 % of the world's growing religion, second in size only to Christianity.

Shocked?  Our tolerance and lack of godly conviction have led us to weather courtroom battle after battle where we have witnessed the Word of God being confined --- and many times banned from use --- within our society.  We are a world no longer interested in the sole purpose and passion of God.

However, God is not changed by our rebellion.  His faithfulness remains.  His Word and holiness are the standards by which all things will be judged.  May your sincere love for Him keep you faithful to His Word.

Keep me faithful to Your Word, O Lord.  Don't let me be drawn away by error.
