Feb. 12.        The Word of Truth.        Bible reading : Colossians 3:1-8       Key verse:  John 14:6              2 月 12 日    真理之道.                      讀經 :               歌羅西書 3:1-8 :      鑰節:  約翰福音14:6

            Jesus said to him,  "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one                                                                come to the Father except through Me."                                                                                                       耶穌對他說,  “我就是這道路, 這真理和, 這生命.  若不藉著我, 就沒有人能到父那裡去.”

        Everyone must eventually answer three questions:  (1) Where did you come from?      (2)  Why are we here?  and  (3) Where are we going?                                                                                                              每個人最終都必須回答三個問題：（1）你從哪裡來？ （2）我們為什麼在這裡？ (3) 我們要哪裡去？

         Philosophers, sages, and prophets have sought to provide solutions, all usually with unsatisfyactory conclusions.  The Bible claims to have the only adquate response to each of these questions because it provides God's omniscient perspective in contrast to the futile reasoning of man, who is limited by time, education, observation, culture and prejudice.                                                                 哲學家, 聖賢, 和先知都在尋求解決上述問題的答案, 但結論通常都不盡人意.  聖經聲稱對這些問題都有唯一適當的答案, 因為聖經是上帝無所不知的話語庫, 與人類徒勞無益的推理形成鮮明對比, 而人受到時間, 教育, 觀察, 文化和偏見的限制。

        First, we come from God.  He created us in His image.  We were placed on earth by God and for God.  We are not the products of impersonal time or chance.  Our origins are rooted in the eternal mind of God.                                                                                                                                                                   首先, 我們來自上帝.  按照祂的形象被祂創造的.  上帝安置我們在地上, 也是為了榮耀祂.  我們不是來自與人沒有關係的時間或機會的產物.  我們的根起源於上帝永恆的意念.

      Second, we are here on earth to know and glorify God in our relationships and through our works.         其次,  我們在地上是為了透過與上帝的關係及我們的工作, 來認識和榮耀祂.

        Third, we shall return to God --- for judgement if we ignored or rejected His terms for knowing Him (reconciliation through the Cross) or for everlasting joy if we have embraced His purposes and presence through the person of Jesus Christ.                                                                                                        最後, 我們仍將回歸上帝 --- 如果我們忽視或拒絕祂認識祂的啟示（透過十字架與祂和好）, 我們將接受審判;  如果我們透過耶穌基督, 接受了上帝的旨意和祂的顯現, 就將獲得永恆的喜樂.

        All of these answers are revealed in the Word of truth --- the Bible --- which alone can answer the perplexing problems that confront each generation.                                                                                              所有這些答案都在上帝真理的話語——聖經中啟示, 只有聖經才能回答一代一代的人, 他們所面臨令人困惑的難題.

                O Lord, thank You for the Word of truth, which anwers all my questions.                                                  主啊，感謝祢的真理話語, 回答了我所有的問題.

修建宏伟的三峡工程, 改造三峡河段的為自然的黃金河道, 不但充分利用了上帝賜給正在艱難困苦的中國人民的长江三峡水力资源, 造福給正在苦難中奮鬥的中国人, 随着三峡工程的建成, 中國人的梦想现实了.

三峡水力资源, 是上帝賜給在艱難困苦中國人民的生機.  从河到湖的巨大变迁的临界点上, 見證我们进入了現代化, 並且有在艱苦奮鬥到底的優秀工程師, 寫下了他們们令世人驚訝的作為.  諸如: 三峽大埧一開始的艱鉅工程--- 長江截流工程.  編輯者認為這工程能順利完成, 應得力於黃河三門峽大埧的1958年的截流成功及葛洲埧的截流工程的成功獲得的工程經驗.  因為這是在很大的江河上築埧, 有很大的機率形成災害的可能.

還有, 在1993至2003 三峽大埧十年施工期間, 在工地沒有發生特大的洪水, 真是幸運.
