圣靈的合一，是信徒共有的產業。這個合一有若干因素，而其中之一乃是我們的盼望。這不僅是一個興致勃勃的樂觀態度，也是我們蒙召作基督徒的盼望。這個盼望是什么呢？就是在榮耀里与主永遠同在。凡是真正屬主的人，他的心中必定怀有這一盼望，因為接受基督到我們里面，就是在我們里面有了那「榮耀的盼望。」如果有人承認自己是屬主的，而竟沒有天堂和榮耀的盼望，那他的信仰和承認是虛空的。同時，一切有分于這榮耀盼望的信徒，都是合而為一的。因為我們既有了這個永遠同在一起的盼望，又怎能在今世這短暫的時間里分開呢？如果我們是有分于同一的將來，豈不應當快樂的有分于同一的現在么？

keep the unity of the Spirit ..... in one hope ......" (Ephesians 4:3-4 NIV)
The unity of the
Holy Spirit is the common inheritance of believers. There are several factors
in this oneness, one of which is our hope. This is not only a cheerful optimism,
but also the hope of our calling as Christians. What is this hope? It is to be with
the Lord forever in glory. Anyone truly belongs to the Lord must have this
hope in his heart, because to receive Christ into us is to have the "hope
of glory" in us. If someone claims to belong to the Lord, but he has no heaven
and hope of glory, then his faith and profession are vain. At the same time,
all believers who share in this hope of glory are one. Since we have this hope
of being together forever, how can we be separated in that short time from this
world? If we are partakers of the same future, shouldn't we happily partake of
the same present?
