Our Father in heaven, let me not love the world.  For everything in the world --- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does.  Oh, Lord, have a mercy on me.  I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.   

九月一日的晨曦默思的憐憫夠我們用,   但有時却常常誤用,  就像這迦南婦人的祈求.    她認主耶穌基督是大衛的子孫.  不錯, 祂是大衛的後裔,   但是這只供以色列專用的稱呼,   我們外邦人只能稱耶穌是主.   這樣耶穌基督就垂聽我們的祈求.

「婦人，你的信心是大的，照你所要的，給你成全了罷。」 （太   15:28 新國際版）.

這位迦南婦人，在她亟感痛苦的需要中，如此喊著說：「主阿，大衛的儿子（原文），可怜我罷！」她的禱告豈不是很懇切嗎？那么，這樣懇切的禱告，豈不是應該即時得著答應嗎？我們的想法常是這樣。然而，希奇得很，主「耶穌卻一言不答。」（太15:23）主對她似乎無話可說。但當門徒因著那婦人的呼喊而向主求訴時，主卻回答他們說：「我奉差遣不過是到以色列家迷失的羊那里去。」（太15:24）這一句回答的話，好像給了那婦人一個正确親近主的提示：因為耶穌是「大衛的儿子」，這稱呼只适用于以色列人，外邦人卻沒有權利應用這稱呼。既明白了這點，她立即改變了她請求的地位，而只稱耶穌是主了。

主耶穌最初對她的反應，好像是一個拒絕，但實際上祂是在幫助她去尋求祂，不讓她站在沒有權利要求的錯誤地位上，而要她站在一個白白蒙恩的地位上。現在她的信心已經得著即時的反應（主的回答），她已經找到那個祈求的鑰匙了。

"Woman, great is your faith; let it be done for you as you wish." (Matthew 15:28 NIV)

This Canaanite woman cried out in her desperate need, "Lord, Son of David (sic), have mercy on me!" Did her prayer is not earnest? Then, shouldn’t such earnest prayers be answered immediately? Our thoughts are often following like this. However, surprisingly, the Lord "Jesus did not answer without a word" (Matthew 15:23). The Lord seemed to have nothing to say to her. But when the disciples appealed to the Lord because of the woman's cry, the Lord answered them, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (Matthew 15:24). It seemed to give the woman a proper reminder to approach the Lord: because Jesus is "Son of David", this title is only applicable to Israelites, but Gentiles have no right to use this title. Knowing this, she immediately changed the position of her request, and called Jesus only the Lord.

The first reaction of the Lord Jesus'  is as if it were a rejection to her , but in fact He was helping her to seek Him, not to put her in a wrong position where she had no right to claim like that, but to put her in a position to seek Him at a free grace.   Her faith has had an immediate response (the Lord's answer), she has found the key to asking now .
