「惟有一個撒瑪利亞人，行路來到那里，看見他就動了慈心，上前」（路10:33-34）

一個無望無助的罪人所做不來的事，救主耶穌卻樂意在旁為他而做。主耶穌基督降世，為要拯救罪人，并作罪人的朋友，好幫助罪人親近祂。我們所以有親近祂的可能，就是因為祂先來親近我們。因著這事實，我們才可能摸著「天」。我記得有一次，我和一個弟兄在他家里坐談，他的母親和太太在樓上，他的小儿子和我們一起在客廳里。忽然那小孩子想要一些東西，就高聲向他的母親喊叫。他母親回答說：「你要的東西在這儿，你上來拿吧！」但他仍然向母親喊叫：「媽媽，我不能上去阿！這么高的樓梯，請你帶下來給我吧。」那小孩子實在很年幼，而樓梯又高，于是母親終于把他所要的帶下來。救恩也像這樣。只有主取穌親自來就近我們，我們的需要才能得著解決。假如祂沒有來，我們這些罪人便永遠不能就近祂。但祂已「從天上降下來」，于是我們便得高升了。

"But a Samaritan came thither on the way, and when he saw him, he was moved with compassion, and approached him" (Luke 10:33-34)

What a helpless sinner cannot do, Jesus the Savior is willing to do for him. The Lord Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners and to be their friend so that sinners can come closer to Him. It is possible for us to draw near to Him because He first came to draw near to us. Because of this fact, it is possible for us to touch "heaven." I remember one time when I sat down with a brother in his home. His mother and wife were upstairs, and his youngest son was with us in the living room. Suddenly the little boy wanted something and called out to his mother. His mother replied: "Here is what you want, you can go up and get it!" But he still shouted to his mother: "Mom, I can't go up! The stairs are so high, please bring them down to me." The child was very young, and the stairs were high, so the mother finally brought down what he wanted. Salvation is like this. Only when the Lord and Jesus himself come to us can our needs be met. If He had not come, we sinners would never have been able to approach Him. But He has "come down from heaven," and we are exalted.
