^{「他們事奉主，禁食的時候，圣靈說，要為我分派巴拿巴和掃羅，去做我召他們所做的工。」                            （徒   13:2 新國際版）}

^{人如果不先學習事奉主自己，信徒就不能真實的為主工作。當巴拿巴和掃羅在安提阿事奉主，禁食的時候，他們就听見了圣靈的聲音，呼召他們去擔任祂所特派的服事。(徒 13:1)}

^{他們所答應的乃是神圣的呼召，并不是為了應付人的需要与請求。他們事前沒有听見野蠻民族食人肉或獵人頭的報導。他們的同情心，也不是由于一些悲傷的故事，比方儿童婚姻，女子纏足，吸食鴉片等而激起的。他們沒有听聞什么聲音，只听見圣靈的聲音，他們也沒有遇見什么要求，只見到基督的要求，是基督主權要求他們起來服事，是靠著基督的權柄他們出外做工。}

^{"While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." (Acts 13:2 NIV)}

^{If a christian does not first learn to serve the Lord Himself, he cannot truly work for the Lord. While Barnabas and Saul were at Antioch serving the Lord, fasting, they heard the voice of the Holy Spirit calling them to His appointed ministry. (Acts 13:1)}

^{Barnabas and Saul answered divine calls, neither for human needs and requests. They had heard no reports from cannibalism about headhunting of barbarism, nor for their sympathy inspired by sad stories of child marriages, women's footbinding, and opium smoking disatster. They didn’t hear any voices, only the voice of the Holy Spirit, and they didn’t meet any requirements, but only saw the requirements of Christ. It was Christ’s sovereignty that asked them to rise up and serve Him, and it was by Christ’s authority that they went out to work.}
