508 中翻英 (208) The Spiritual Artificial Canal.連接長江支流湘江及珠江支流漓江的人工靈渠.        9/3/2023   

編輯者在讀台大土木系水利組時, 曾常常聽到恩師徐世大教授在教水利工程時說, "靈渠" 是古人智慧的創作.  公元前214年, 也就是在2214年前, 古人就有建築船閘的構想. 只是那時候, 在建築靈渠時稱為 "陡門" , 就是現代的船閘. 只是還沒有達到用電控制船閘門, 而是用人工粗陋製造的暫時擋住水流的遮攔門, 使水位暫時升高, 讓船隻等到水位升至將近一樣高時立刻讓船過去, 然後拿掉, 再有船來要通過, 如法再做一次.  到了宋朝年間, 才在大運河建築自動開啟關閉的船閘門.  斯時荷蘭國也有這樣的閘門. (靈渠位置圖如下所示).  

現時因公路鉄路輰通, 已轉移作灌溉農田用之渠道.

「亞伯蘭就在那里為向他顯現的耶和華筑了一座壇。」（創   12:7 新國際版）

亞伯拉罕在神向他顯現的地方，筑了一座壇。除非神向人顯現，人是不會主動的將自己的一切獻給神的。但當那一天神遇見了亞伯蘭，就在那一天神得著了他的生命。亞伯蘭并不知道奉獻的道理，也沒有人勸他去奉獻自己。這也許是很好的，因為那些傳講奉獻道理的人，我恐怕他們本身并不一定是奉獻給神的人。許多明白奉獻道理的人，卻不大認識奉獻的實際。可是亞伯蘭遇見了神，所以他就為神筑了一座壇。你只要稍為瞥見了神，你就會永遠屬于祂的。兩千年來，教會的歷史都一直證實這件事。

有一首詩的副歌：「我是祂的，我是祂的，榮耀歸祂名，我是祂的。」不認識什么是奉獻的人，不會寫這樣的話。

不是人挑選神去奉獻，乃是神揀選人來奉獻。能夠來事奉神的人，是尊榮的人。

"So Abram built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him." (Genesis 12:7 NIV)

Abraham built an altar where God appeared to him. Unless God appears to man, man will not automatic taking the initiative to dedicate everything to God. But when God met Abram on that day,  God gained his life. Abram did not know the principle of dedication, and no one tell him to consecrate himself. This may be good, for I am afraid those who preach consecration, maybe not  consecrated themselves.  Many people are understanding the principle of dedication, but do not know much about its reality. Because Abram met God, so he built an altar to God. You only have to catch a glimpse of God, and you will be His forever. For two thousand years, the history of the Church has confirmed this.

There is a poem with the refrain: "I am His, I am His, glory to His name, I am His." People don't know what consecration is meaning for.  They can't write such poem.

Man does not choose God to consecrate, but God chooses man to dedicate.  Those who are able to serve God are honorable.
