「你開廣我心的時候，我就往你命令的道上直奔。」（詩   119:32 新國際版）

今日許多屬靈的弊病，乃由于我們僅客觀的接受了道理，就心滿意足，我們只在圣經上尋求表面上和心思里的亮光，而沒有進一步將它們化成為我們內在經歷的實際。在圣經里我們遇到許多与心智相左的難處，而把這些難處解答了，我們就以為得了「亮光」。我們中間有許多人，以為只要在道理上維持正統和保守，并在心思上贊成或不贊成某些教義，便有万事大吉的感覺。就是因著這种見解，基要派的人就認為自己比現代派的人高出一籌；然而，我們都該豁然了解，我們在神眼光中的屬靈分量，只是根据對祂儿子那內在真實的認識之多寡，而不是根据別的標准。我們可能樣樣都對，但除非我們有了祂那更丰盛的生命，并借著那生命而生活，不然，我們還是缺少了那最高無上的基本東西。

Many spiritual ills today are caused by the fact that we only accept doctrines objectively and being satisfied. We only seek superficial and mental light in the Bible without further turning them into the reality(實存) of our inner experience. In the Bible we encounter many problems that are contrary to our minds. Once these problems are solved, we think we have received "light." Many of us think that as long as we remain orthodox and conservative in doctrine and agree or disagree with certain doctrines mentally, everything will be fine. It is because of this view that fundamentalists consider themselves superior to modernists; however, we should all suddenly understand that our spiritual weight in the eyes of God is based solely on the inner reality of His Son, based on the amount of knowledge, not based on other criteria. We may be right about everything, but unless we have His more abundant life and live by that life, we are still missing that supreme essential.
