「眼不能對手說，我用不著你. .......」（林前   12:21 新國際版）

我們在上海初期的時候，我承認我常常努力去提高聚會的水平，特別是禱告聚會，我要把它提升到一個相當高的標准。結果，我對某些弟兄們禱告的方式很不滿意，我覺得很難過，也把感覺說出來。哦，我的錯是多么大！

過了一些日子后，主將我放在一邊，因我的身體需要休養。我竭力禱告，但我那剛強奮斗的祈求，似乎全無反應。最后神好像對我說：「你從前以為某些弟兄禱告得很軟弱，現在請他們來，為著你的需要替你禱告罷！」這對我的自尊心是一种挑戰，但我終于請了這些弟兄們來，當他們跪下禱告的時候，我第一次感到他們那种簡單坦白祈求的寶貴！更奇妙的是，主果然听了他們的禱告，我就康复起來了！

When we were in Shanghai in the early days, I admit that I often tried hard to raise the standard of the meetings, especially the prayer meetings, to a fairly high standard. As a result, I was not satisfied with the way some brothers prayed. I felt very sad and expressed my feelings. Oh, how wrong I was!

After some days, the Lord set me aside because my body needed to rest. I prayed with all my strength, but none of my strong and striving prayers seemed to be answered. In the end, God seemed to say to me: "You used to think that some brothers were weak in prayer. Now invite them to pray for  your needs!" This was a challenge to my self-esteem, but I finally did invite them. When these brothers came and knelt down to pray, I felt for the first time the preciousness of their simple and frank prayers! What’s even more amazing is that the Lord listened to their prayers and I recovered!
