"They had Peter and John brought before them and begain to question them; "By what power or what name did you do this?" (Acts 4:7 NIV)

Our eyes must be opened to see the great changes that Jesus have been done since the Lord  ascended to heaven. The name Jesus definitely establishes the identity of the son of the carpenter from Nazareth and the Christ who sits on the throne, but this holy name has a deeper meaning, because the name Jesus represents infinite power and authority. ——"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on earth, and under the earth."  (Philippians 2:10) Even when the Jewish leaders asked the disciples how the lame man was healed at this time, they also realized that in this Holy Name, there is the possibility of the above-mentioned meaning.

Today, the name of the Lord Jesus tells us that God has given all authority to His Son, so there is infinite power in His holy name. Furthermore, His holy name not only belongs to Him, but has been “given to men” (Acts 4:12). He has placed the authority of His holy name in our hands for our use. In His last conversation with His disciples, He repeated the words: "Ask in My name" in three places (John 14: 13-14 and 15:16). How deeply He trusts us when He says, "Whatever you ask in My name, and I will do it!"
