105 常用介词单字(二) at, on,

at, on, in 这三个介词单字用在指地方也与它的引进字的及其后所接的宾语的关系,在使用上不同. 例如, at 通常指小地方，on
通常指在表面，in
通常指大的地方.
例如:
They arrived in Taipei at midnight . (指大的地方)
The group arrived at the park at the
scheduled time. (指小的地方)
Have you seen
the notice on the notice board. (指在布告栏表面的地方)
in 一般用在指较大的地方的例子.
When we were in Keelung , we spent a
few days in Wildwillow(野柳).
(指大地方, 不能写 ' at
Wildwillow ' 因野柳也是较大的地方)
I have a friend who lives in a small village
in the mountains. (用在指大的地方)
at 指一般小地方或特定的地方的例子
Who is that man standing at the bus stop? (或at the door 或at the
window?
Turn left at the traffic lights.

on 指一般在特定的地方的上面, 如, on the ceiling, on the wall, on the door, on the
table, on the floor, on a page
例如:
I sat on the
floor.
She sits on
the ground on the grass.

in 和at 用在指示地方的区别.
例如:
There were a
lot of people in the shop. It was very crowded.
Go along this
road, then turn left at the shop.
in 和on在指地方用法也不同.

at 和on虽都是指确定小地方, 但用法上也不同.

There is somebody at the door. Shall I go

例如:
When I go to the theater, I prefer to sit in the front row.
