Shunan:  I think our car is on its last legs, Dachin! It's really not holding up very well.

秀兰:   大成, 我们的车已经快走不动了!  真的是老牛破车.

Dachin:  You're right, Shunan. It's been acting up all winter. I experienced difficulty
         in starting up the car on cold mornings and backing up on hills. There's really 
         not very much power.

大成:    秀兰, 妳是对的.  去冬以后就突然显示出它不行了.  在冷的清晨我很难发动

它, 并且倒车上坡也很吃力.  实在是它的马力不够了. 

Shunan:  Sometimes when I'm behind the wheel, I wonder if I'll make it to my
             destination.  That was terrible last week when the car broke down and 
             tied up city traffic.   I wasn't sure which way to turn!

秀兰:    当我驾驶它, 有时犹疑是否我能到达目的地.  上星期当车开不动卡在交通

道上时, 造成都市交通堵塞, 真是令我惊恐得手足无措 !

Dachin:  Well, I talked to the mechanic who looked the car over, and he said it would

      cost an arm and a leg to repair it properly.

大成:    是呀, 我把情形告诉修车技工, 经他全面检视车子后, 他说若要修理到能正常

使用, 得化费一笔不值得的大钱.

Shunan:  That means we're up against a difficult decision!

秀兰:    那就是说我们得面对一个难下决定的问题!

Dachin:  I know we are. Do we put money into this old car or do we trade it in 
           for another?

大成:    是的.  问题是要化大笔的钱修理旧车呢? 还是去作把旧车送去车店再加钱换另

   一辆的交易?

Shunan:  I'm not sure. But if we do decide to trade it in, we'll have to start checking
              out some good used cars.

秀兰:    我不能肯定.  但是若真决定要换车, 那现在我们就得开始注意去选一辆好的二

手车.

Dachin:  Well, before we can really settle on anything, we'll have to go over our
               financial situation.

大成:   是的,  在我们没有作任何决定之前, 必须要了解我们的经济情况.

Shunan:  Then let's do that now, Dachin, I’m sure we can work out Satisfactorily.

秀兰:   大成,  让我们现在就做.  没有问题, 我们可以把这件事做得满意.
