我们的主耶穌基督，求祢施怜悯. 祢來到世上是为我的罪, 而死在十字架上.  在這新年的第一天, 孩子悔改.  主啊, 求祢宽恕我的罪孽, 使孩子能勝過魔鬼的試探, 不再墮入肉體的情欲, 眼目的情欲, 和今生的驕傲, 貪愛世界的罪.  奉主耶稣基督的名祈祷.  阿们.

中國古語說, 千里之行, 始於足下.  學習英文也是這樣.   要能學會應用英文, 你必須從學會拼字開始, 沒有捷徑.  回憶我們是如何跟母親學說話,   那時只是口語, 沒有文法.  之後, 要學寫句子, 才有中文文法的出現.  學習英文拼字尤其顯得困難, 是因為英文有不少字形相似和讀音相似的字, 如上篇博客所舉的例子及練習.

編輯者建議訪友下述的學習方法:

1.  攜帶一本筆記本, 把難以記憶和容易混亂的生字記下來, 有暇便逐字温習, 可以受  温故  而  知新之效.

2.  養成查字典的習慣: 必須買一本好的字典.  有不懂的及懷疑時, 便查閱字典.  無論    在發音 上, 字義上, 你都可以獲得幫助, 字典實是我們的好老師.

3.  發音要清楚:  正確的發音, 可以分辨字形相似字的不同.  含糊不清的發音, 是拼錯字  的根 源.

4.  依音節來拼寫:  英文字是有音節的(syllable) 如:  relation (re-la-tion) 就是三个音節,   我們 跟着它的音節來拼寫減少拼寫的錯誤.

5.    重覆校對自己寫出來的字句:  校對自己寫出來的字句, 可減少許多不應該有的錯誤.  重覆校閱自己寫出來的字句, 是一种良好的習慣.

     下列分組別出字形或字音相似的字, 以供參考:

11. Boarder          Mr. Jones is a new boarder at this house.

      寄宿生               琼斯先生是这所房子的新寄宿生.

      Border           The river forms a border between the two states.

      边境                   河流形成了两个州之间的边界.

12.  Brake            The brake on this truck needs repair.

      刹车                  这辆卡车上的制动器需要修理.

      Break             Be careful not to break the glasses.

      打破                  小心不要扲破了這玻璃杯子.

13. Bread            Give her a slice of bread.

      面包                  给她一片面包.

      Bred              This is a finely bred horse.

      品種                 这是一匹纯种马.

14. Breadth        The box is four inches in breadth.

    宽度                   盒子的宽度为四吋.

    Breath             His breath froze in the cold air.

    呼吸(名詞)          他的呼吸在冷空气中来回.

    Breathe            Please breathe slowly and deeply.

    呼吸(動詞)           请喘口气；慢慢而深刻.

15. Bridal             You are invited to the bridal supper.

    新娘                      邀请您参加新娘晚宴。

    Bridle                The horse objects to his new bridle.

    辔                         這匹馬不習慣牠的辔。

16. Calendar       The farmers prefer lunar calendar.

    日曆                     我國农民喜欢使用農曆。

    Calender          The calender gave the cloth a glossy finish.   

    輪壓機                 輪壓機把布熨得很光滑.
